What isn’t coaching?

The coaching modality differs from therapy in that coaching primarily focuses on the present and desired future states while therapy focuses more on the past experiences and their influence on the present state. Coaching is also different from advising in that advising is often within the boundaries of the coach’s own experiences and knowledge while coaching is about tapping into and enhancing client’s own wisdom, strengths and capabilities.
